Ralph Lauren launched its 2020 Polo Project: Design for Good competition to contribute to COVID-19 relief efforts. Contestants were asked to create an original design for a polo shirt inspired by hope and optimism. Using brush strokes, the word “hope” was designed in the shape of a heart using primary colors. The primary color wheel is arguably the foundation of visual art and design, much like hope and positivity are the foundation for a happy state of mind. Using soft, pastel watercolors gives the design a cohesive feel, representing the way hope brings people together.
